Reasons to Quit Smoking

  Do you want to have an extra $5,000.00 a year? Then DON’T SMOKE! An average smoker spends close to that each year on cigarettes. This does not include the smoker who smokes two and a half packs per day or the expenses of going to the doctor because of smoke related illnesses. Smoking is just a waste of money and there is no nutritional value, nor health benefits.
  Lung cancer, cancers of the larynx, oral cavity, pharynx and esophagus are a few diseases you can get from smoking. It contributes to the development of cancers of the bladder, pancreases, liver, uterus, cervix, kidney, stomach, colon and rectum. Cigarette smoking causes several lung diseases and chronic bronchitis. It can also cause emphysema; a disease that slowly destroys a person’s ability to breathe.



  More than seven million current and former smokers suffer from chronic bronchitis and emphysema. The last stage of chronic lung disease is the most miserable of all medical conditions. It creates a feeling of gasping for breath all the time, similar to the feeling of drowning.

  About half of all Americans who continue to smoke will die because of their habit. Cigarettes kill more Americans than alcohol, car accidents, suicide, AIDS, homicide, and illegal drugs combined. Smoking also causes premature wrinkling of the skin, bad smelling clothes and hair, yellow fingernails and teeth, bad breath and gum disease.
